Whitson Elementary is in Step 3 of School Improvement.  Whitson Elementary is required to revise its School Improvement Plan, and because it receives Title I, Part A funds it must set-aside 10% of its Title I budget for professional development, and continue to offer Public School Choice and Supplemental Educational Services.  In addition, it must take “corrective action” by either: (1) making curriculum and instruction changes to improve student learning, (2) appointing outside experts to work to advise the school on revising and implementing the school plan, or (3) extending the school year or school day.  Whitson Elementary will take “corrective action” by making curriculum and instruction changes.Current corrective actions planned  include:
